Pour la première fois, Rolex a autorisé la publication d'un ouvrage complet sur l'histoire de la montre Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner, premier d'une série consacrée aux montres de la marque iconique. Écrit par l'auteur, rédacteur et expert en horlogerie Nick Foulkes, le livre Oyster Perpetual Submariner. La Clef des Profondeurs est publié par l'autorité mondiale en matière de design, Wallpaper*. Cette dernière apporte son oeil aiguisé et cinématographique au projet, en créant des images nouvelles et inédites en collaboration avec Rolex pour accompagner les récits de témoins renommés des 70 ans d'histoire du Submariner, dont la biologiste marine Sylvia Earle, le photographe David Doubilet et l'aquanaute Joe MacInnis. Cette démarche souligne encore le rôle que cette pièce emblématique continue de jouer dans l'exploration et la protection de l'environnement marin.
