When elephant hunters come to the jungle, all the elephants are worried. Elmer comes up with an ingenious plan that is bound to outwit even the cleverest hunter - or will it?
One day, as Elmer is strolling through the jungle, he hears a cry for help. A butterfly has been trapped in a hole by a fallen branch. Elmer rushes to the rescue and frees her with ease. In return, she promises to help Elmer should he ever need it. He cannot imagine how a tiny butterfly could ever help him, but finds out sooner than expected.
The elephants decide to play a trick on Elmer. Snake suggests pretending to Elmer that he looks pale and ill, to see if they can make him believe that he really is unwell. However, at the same time, Snake also plots with Elmer to trick the other elephants into thinking he is sick by covering Elmer in pale mud.
